School and illness have pretty much consumed my life for the past few months. I really won't get into the details because it's quite boring, but I thought I'd update and let everyone know what's going on with me and my artwork. Right now I am currently working on two large watercolor paintings for my watercolor class, two sheets of tattoo flash for a friend, and I've also been taking some photos here and there and I'm planning on processing them sometime later on this week. Once my paintings and tattoo flash are done I will be posting them on the site, which should be sometime within the next few weeks. Same goes for the photos. Some of the photos I took, which are of a friend, got lost in my flash card so I have to figure out some way to transfer them over onto my computer from her boyfriend's without using CDs, lol. I might just have to travel with my external hard drive over to her place and hope that it doesn't crash or anything in the transfer process. It's where everything I have is stored. It's firewire, but I can't help but worry, stranger things have happened. Anywho. I just thought I'd update since I haven't in quite a while. And, just as a reminder, Christmas is just around the corner and I still have quite a few pieces of artwork for sale, and I also have prints of everything for sale. Prints are here and original artwork for sale are here. And, as an end note, I've been published! It's a photo of me showing off one of my tattoos that I drew myself. It's in the book Caribbean Folklore: A Handbook. It's on page 91. It's an interesting book that I recommend that people read if they're interested in the Caribbean and it's cultures. I'm taking my second class with the author of the book and he's awesome, so support him and buy the book! That's enough of that, haha. Well, goodbye for now, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends!

So, I finally finished my site. The photography section is all set and everything should be right with it. If there are any problems that you notice, just leave a comment here or email me at shelly@stillhaunts.com and I'll fix it :)

I also have a new drawing up. Just click here to see it. It's a pastel drawing that I did on top of a certain kind of acrylic paint that has some tooth to it. It's not pastel ground, it's actual paint. I really like the way that it came out. I have some other pieces that I've done recently, I just haven't taken photos of them yet. And speaking of photos, I have a lot of them that I just uploaded to my computer. I have to adjust the size of them and such before I actually put them online, but keep a watch out because it should be sometime soon!

Also, I still have most of my artwork for sale, and I'm desperate for money. So, if you're looking into buying any of them, and more than one, I'm willing to make a deal with you as far as price, because all the prices include shipping and if you buy multiple pieces, I can ship them all at once and you can save money that way. Just email me at originalart@stillhaunts.com if you are looking into buying multiple pieces.

It's my birthday! As of right now, I'm 27 years old. Hopefully this year will be better than the last. What I really want is this and this but I know I'm not getting them because they cost too much. Unless someone wants to send me a Target gift card to get them ;)

Well, happy birthday to me. Not doing anything for my birthday but going to an appointment with an oral surgeon because I need both of my wisdom teeth taken out :(

Soo, I guess there are a few things that I should mention. First off, this is the first time that I have ever designed my site. Before I updated it and added more pages to it and such, but just basic stuff. But this time I totally rehauled it and started from scratch, sort of. Pretty much everything's done except for the photography section, but if you really want to see my photos before I finish that section, you can just go here to see them.

New art. My two most recent pieces are Living Dead Series #7: Holly and Fairy in Training. Holly is actually drawn after Holly Madison from The Girls Next Door, and one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends. I think I did a decent job. I'm a huge fan of the show and I love the personalities of each of the girls, so I thought I'd throw them into my pinup zombie series. Bridget and Kendra will be coming soon, all in their zombified glory, haha.

Right now I am working on a painting. I haven't really painted anything since January, right before my first gallery show. I'm really liking how it's coming out. Unfortunately, I know it's not going to photograph very well because what I used. I used interference colors, and experimental pearl medium from Golden, and an iridescent color, so it'll look milky and icky on photograph. But trust me, it looks awesome in person. I kind of think that the background looks like a cool kind of wallpaper. Also, I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I will be taking photos of two scupltures that I made in my 3-D Design class to put onto my site. One's a spiral thingy made from plaster and one's this acrylic photo transfer foamcore oard mess that I made. Well, it's not really a mess, it's just a mess of different stuff that I used for it. I realized how much I like sculpting plaster chunks so maybe I'll do a bit more of it over the summer. I'll just have to get the right carving tools to do that.

Speaking of, I am in desperate need of money. I have SO many pieces up for sale that there's something that I have for sale that one of you is going to like so much that you want to buy it. Well, don't be shy! The buy now buttons on my store page are legitimate. I go to my paypal account and make them there. Yes, paypal. I've had my paypal account for quite a while, I even have a paypal debit card. So, if you buy something from me, you'll be sure that as soon as the payment goes through to my account, I'll be shipping your original art off to you. No waiting for bank transfers. I also don't keep addresses once something is shipped. I delete all emails with peoples' addresses in them after things are shipped. I'm good like that. So, you buy something from me, what should you expect? Well, not much, kind of. Just said piece of art and a handwritten note from me stating what the piece is and a thank you. I like to be personal like that. I mean, I put a piece of myself into everything I create. The least I can do to thank you for buying something from me is to give you a hand-written note. I'm all about hand-writing things too. I don't even use printed shipping labels, haha. I even write letters via snail mail! But my philosophies on that will be spoken of on another day, I suppose. Also, everything that I sell is either varnished or sprayed with a fixative, depending on what it is, so once you get it, it's either ready to hang (if it's stated in the description) or ready to frame. I peronally think that my drawings would look best in one of those floating type frameless frames, that are just a glass panel, but to each their own. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm not a shyster, I'm for real. I won't rip you off. I'm too paranoid to do something like that anyways, lol. And just take a chance on me (in the famous words of ABBA)!

Well, that's it for this very first update. I did say a bit more than I had expected to in the first place, but that tends to happen a lot with me. My friends often call my letters 'books'.
